Safety as a maxim

Returning home healthy and accident-free after work is a non-negotiable principle for us and part of our corporate culture. Safety is the top priority in all our activities.

Promoting employee health

Health protection is closely linked to occupational safety. We want to strengthen the health of our employees and prevent any impairments – whether short-term or long-term. Our company doctor is available for counselling and preventive check-ups, flu vaccinations and the like. And we draw attention to current key topics with targeted campaigns and activities.

MRI – quick and easy

Sometimes a quick diagnosis is crucial, for example after a sports accident. We organise a CT or MRI appointment for our employees within a few days.

Difficult life situations

Any of us can find ourselves in difficult life situations. Then advice and help is needed. Our employee support programme helps. It opens up new avenues and works together with debt counselling, care and social counselling or addiction counselling, and offers acute help from a psychotherapist. Always discreet and anonymous.

Better pension provision

We support company pension schemes through voluntary direct commitments and subsidies in a variety of forms.

More holiday

The collective agreement guarantees 30 days’ holiday. In addition, there is, for example, extra holiday in 5-shift operation, more time off for older employees and days off for special events.

Share of the profit

If KANZAN can make a decent profit, then the workforce should also benefit from this. This is why we have been making profit-sharing payments for a long time. In lean times, however, this also means: no profit sharing.

Food and drink

We are in the fortunate position of being able to offer our employees a wide range of options. The ARENA Kreis Düren restaurant is just a 2-minute walk away and serves a fresh lunch for just EUR 4.50 every day. A good frozen meal can be purchased in the company itself. There are also supermarkets and an organic market in the immediate vicinity.

In addition, water is provided free of charge throughout the company during the summer months.

Flexibility in practice

Time flexibility plays a major role today. However, there are often limits to this in the shift operation of a manufacturing company. Wherever possible, we take into account requests for temporary or permanent part-time work. Wherever possible, we offer flexitime for day shifts. In certain jobs, mostly in commercial administration, mobile working is also possible by arrangement.

At home in Düren

Düren has paper in its blood and has been characterised by this material for centuries. Here we find the best conditions for KANZAN. And for the people who work for us. Centrally located between large cities on the one hand and in the midst of breathtakingly beautiful nature on the other, Düren offers the entire spectrum that makes it an attractive centre of life. 

Commitment in our region

KANZAN supports social and cultural projects and activities. For example, it supports young people so that they can achieve a school-leaving qualification in an environment other than school through close guidance. Or it is about the healing power of music, which is brought to social or medical places. For these people, usually outside our field of vision, these concerts mean access to the world. We support individuals who are incredibly committed to creating new perspectives for people and families in need, or who simply organise a meal for otherwise lonely people at Christmas. Of course, Düren’s museums are also close to our hearts, as are selected cultural events that can only exist thanks to the great and passionate commitment of volunteers.

A location with tradition

Our plant, Neumühl, is centrally located and easily accessible in the south of Düren. Ample on-site car parking, supermarkets in the immediate vicinity, the ARENA Kreis Düren with its events directly opposite and the brand-new Rurbad are also just a stone’s throw away.

Our own e-charging stations

You can charge your car cheaply at our e-charging points. This is currently being planned for e-bikes.

Business Bike Programme

For many people, e-bikes have become a real alternative for travelling to work. We promote this type of environmentally friendly mobility with the Business Bike Programme, in which we as an employer support the leasing of an e-bike or bicycle. In this way, we are opening up ways for people at KANZAN to use an environmentally friendly means of transport with tax benefits and a subsidy from us – for private use too, of course.
