Safety and environmental compatibility of our thermal papers

We ensure that our products can be used safely and environmentally compatible by our customers and end users. The high safety standard of KANZAN thermal papers is ensured by comprehensively assessing and testing both the relevant raw materials and the end products according to internationally recognized tests.

 

Raw materials

Our base papers consist of 100 percent of cellulose, which is obtained from wood. We are committed to using only pulp from controlled, sustainable sources and are FSC and PEFC certified.
All other raw materials must have been manufactured and placed on the market in accordance with REACH. REACH is an EU directive for the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances. It ensures that the substances comply with all aspects of health and environmental safety.

The products manufactured by us are "articles" according to REACH and are not themselves subject to the REACH regulation (EC No. 1907/2006). For this reason, it is not necessary, for example, to prepare a safety data sheet for the paper article.

 

EC Directive on the concentration of heavy metals in packaging

Regarding the heavy metal content, our products meet the requirements of EC Directive 94/62/EC on the concentration of heavy metals in packaging.
 

RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances)

Our papers also comply with the directive for electrical and electronic products. The heavy metals lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium IV mentioned in the regulation as well as the substances PBB, PBDE, DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP are not used in the manufacture of our products.
 

Food contact

The majority of our thermal papers have been approved by ISEGA, a certification required for all packaging materials for use in indirect contact with foodstuffs. If required, the approval can be made available.
 

Recycling of thermal papers

Thermal papers are easily recyclable in accordance with local laws and regulations. Therefore, it makes sense to return thermal papers to the recycling process as part of the recycling economy.
Where this is not possible, thermal papers are disposed of as residual waste.
 

MOSH / MOHA

We do not use saturated mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOSH - Mineral oil saturated Hydrocarbons) or aromatic mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOAH - Mineral oil aromatic Hydrocarbons) to manufacture our products.
Furthermore, we do not use polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
